Rollo Wenlock, creative director of ROLL

Rollo Wenlock

Creative director / ROLL

A filmmaker, director and maker who understands the creative work—and what it takes to get that work confidently through the room.

03.1 / The person in the process

Experience without the theatre.

Rollo has spent his career inside moving-image work: directing, producing, making and building tools for the people who make films. He founded Wipster after seeing how easily a good idea could get lost inside a difficult review process.

ROLL brings that experience back to the opening frame. The ambition is high, the conversation is direct, and every decision is made in service of the story the audience is about to enter.

01

The idea survives the room.

A clear organising thought gives directors, producers and departments something precise to respond to.

02

The process stays visible.

Tests, references and decisions are shared early. Nothing important is hidden behind a grand reveal.

03

The film remains the centre.

The title sequence belongs to the world already being made. It should deepen that world, not compete with it.

03.2 / A conversation

What makes a great title sequence?

It is more than a preface and more than a graphic treatment. It is a film within the film: a first shift in atmosphere, expectation and feeling.

Filmed conversation to follow.

03.3 / Along the way

A few things made, directed, moved around.

Bring experience in before the first frame.
