ROLL / Style guide v1.0Back to studio

ROLL

A confident, cinematic identity built from open type, hard grids and blocks of colour. The work stays louder than the interface.

01 / Principles

Simple rules. Strong frames.

01Work fills the frame

Let the moving image lead.

02Type moves like an edit

Direct, rhythmic, never decorative.

03The grid holds tension

Structure creates room for surprise.

02 / Colour

Flat, vivid and intentional.

Close enough to feel designed. Open enough to breathe.

04 / Components

Quiet controls. One unmistakable action.

05 / Motion

Move with editorial rhythm, not interface flourish.

ROLL

Use hard cuts for words and slow drift for fields of colour.

Primary loop: 6 seconds. Ambient drift: 7–9 seconds.

Always provide a reduced-motion state. Never animate body copy.

06 / Voice

Short sentences. Precise verbs. No agency fog.

Lead with what the audience will feel or remember.

Say “we design and direct” rather than “we offer creative solutions.”

Credit collaborators clearly. Let the work prove the claim.
